Did you know that currently around 90% of companies in Brazil pay taxes improperly?

   A study carried out with more than 3,200 Brazilian companies revealed that the total amount of overpaid taxes between 2017 and 2018 that could be recovered exceeded the amount of R$1 billion. This is all due to the fact that tax legislation in Brazil is quite complex. There are more than 41 thousand laws and at least 46 of them are changed every day, that's right, 46 tax laws are changed every day in Brazil.

   In this scenario, small, medium and large companies have difficulties in maintaining complete tax compliance. To give you an idea, this study shows that around 95% of companies that opted for the Real Profit or Presumed Profit regime pay more taxes than they should. Among MEI, ME and EPP companies that fall under the Simples Nacional regime, 76% of these companies have tax credits in Brazil.

   In the same study that delivered this data, they also list which sectors have the most credits to be recovered according to the tax regime chosen by them and among these sectors are agribusiness, industry, services, auto parts, distributors, supermarkets , perfumeries, gas stations, dairy, pharmacy etc... .
